NEWS: 2010 - 2011
We would like to announce that Marie Stevens will be having a solo show of her new works 2011 - February 6th through to February 19, at THE HAVANA on THE DRIVE. Havana Gallery is a contemporary art gallery that showcases local and international artists of all disciplines. A new show opens every two weeks on Sunday at 4:00 pm and everyone is welcome to attend. Havana Gallery receives no government funding and is solely supported by the Havana Restaurant and sales of art.

2010 - Elements of Lyrical Abstraction a visual essay by Michael Cook
One of the most significant distinctions from other forms of abstract art is contained in its premise of being "lyrical." What is lyrical? In the Oxford dictionary, "lyrical" is defined as "expressing the writer's emotions" (or the artist's emotions, in this case) —and it really is that simple.
It may be if I were to try to give my work place in some way I would like to think it is growing towards "Elements of Lyrical Abstraction."

Marie Steven's paintings are held in a number of public and private collections across North America.
Three of her watercolors were purchased by the Government of British Columbia for their Permanent Collection which are held in the Victoria, Conference Centre,in Victoria, British Columbia.
The Canadian Imperial Bank Of Commerce has added Steven,s work to their collection of fine Canadian Art, (purchased through the Broadmead Gallery (in Victoria, B.C.)
"Protect The Children" was selected and given the People's Choice award In Victoria, before leaving for the 'UNITED NATIONS WOMEN IN ARTS AND CULTURE. The Exhibition, Held in Beijing, China, and was opened by Hillary Clinton. With the completion of the Show, The Collection of works are housed in the Smithsonian American Art Museum Collection Washington, DC USA.
While in Manitoba, Canada. Steven's was honored to be the Fine Arts Adjudicator for the festival's showcase of talent of the Red River Valley, ............................................
Stevens now resides in Vancouver B.C. with her adorable best friend "TOTO - a tiny Carine Terrier.
