For this being my first Exhibition on this website it is quite important that you read all of my personal information and how Depressionism was started. ENJOY!
Who am I ? What is Depressionism ? What is my Inspiration?
(1) I am Justin Aerni, Im 20 and I live in Spokane Washington. All artists conflict with their backgrounds and their environments. And by "Conflict"- I mean HATE in one way or another. This is how Depressionism was born. This is how all great artists are made. In the future my goal is when people- think - talk about Depressionism OR art in general, they will talk about me.
(2) "Depressionism" - Depressionism can be defined as a cruel distribing arrogant emotional artform. A dark emotional gateway into the mind of the artist with the primary focus of "Making" the viewer feel the feelings of Depression,rage,sorrow etc. Which is different from "Expressionism" and "Surrealism" in alot of ways. Another point of view on Depressionism is it can be a mix of surrealism and symbolizm with my own phycological point of view and world views. Other websites or artists which claim to be "depressionistic" but fall short and never are able understand the real point or meaning behind the philosophy and Artform of Depressionism- I really do laugh at and dont consider any of their art "Depressionism" at all.
(3) My Inspiration : My background, My environment, the people I know positivly and negitivly give off their attributes in one way or another. The One person who has given alot for me and Helped me in "EVERY" way in the creation of Depressionism is Brian Gooding the photographer.
